Not really -- only primitive type hints actually prevent the function
from accepting a non-matching argument:
(defn foo [^java.util.Map x] x)
(foo #{})
;= #{}
(defn foo [x]
{:pre [(instance? java.util.Map x)]}
x)
(foo #{})
; AssertionError
