Ken Wesson made essentially the same case for publicizing useful private fns in the long thread on defn- (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/clojure/r_ym-h53f1E/discussion). It wasn't compelling then, and isn't compelling now. Dead horse here. Please do not add to this thread unless you have something novel to contribute.
