Extending the writer is pretty trivial
(defn write-date [date]
(.format (new java.text.SimpleDateFormat "MMM dd, yyyy hh:mm:ss a")
date))
(extend Date Write-JSON
{:write-json write-date})
but it seems like deserializing a date wouldn't be quite so trivial.
