Probably because you're not evaluating 'expressions' (whose return value is important) but rather 'statements' (who are all about side effects, and whose return value is generally nil).
For example, println is a 'statement' => side effect of writing to *out*, return value is nil. Another example: doseq, etc. 2010/7/30 vishy <[email protected]> > Hi, > in REPL when I try out various expressions, nil is printed.why so? > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google > Groups "Clojure" group. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected] > Note that posts from new members are moderated - please be patient with > your first post. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > [email protected]<clojure%[email protected]> > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/clojure?hl=en -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Clojure" group.
