Which looks somehow self-explaining but is wrong in general. Note the
difference for a non-empty map.
user=> (apply hash-map {:a 1 :b 2})
{[:a 1] [:b 2]}
user=> (apply hash-map [:a 1 :b 2])
{:a 1, :b 2}
