As with any project, there's risk and reward in following master/HEAD. It'll give you access to the latest and greatest features at any given time while also exposing you to things that are in flux (though we try to send out heads-ups for breaking changes). From a stabiliy perspective, we do a pretty good job of not breaking the world from night to night.
