If I understand correctly, I wonder if a better name for this would be
`shouldKeepTypedPtrType`. My reasoning is that a function pointer doesn't
really seem a special opaque type to me, and maybe in the future we need to
handle other cases that aren't special opaque types either. Anyway, just a
