I have noticed that if you have a %include in your kickstart file and the include file does not exist (It's created in my %pre section) - - I could not even bring up the kickstart editor.
I get an error about the file could not be opened. No reason why and then the editor just exists. I had to keep chopping down my file till I found the offending line. Hope this helps someone else...
