Hy Keith, I asked my boss and he agreed you can have the xsd in personal mail, I'd prefer not sending it to the list.
The problem I hoped to solve with the new castor version is another one we have when trying to do xsl transformations on xml output from classes generated with castor from this xsd, which had something to do with namespaces - sorry i just rtook that job on me and am not already as in formed as my colleague workin on it previously - i just can tell he said he had to crank up namespace settings in the xsd because with the original, "correct" namespace setting it wouldn't have worked.
