After further investigations, it seems CAS application is now trying to bind to the interface corresponding to the hostname mentioned in "cas.server.name" before getting ready. I can only guess it, because there is no error message in the logs, except the app is never getting ready and processing requests when this interface is not available (or kind of availability check is returning a negative result). If there the interface is active prior to CAS startup and a test with ping is giving a positive answer, everything is fine. The problem is I am using an active/passive setup, where this dedicated CAS service interface is only activated when CAS is up and running and "/cas/actuator/health" is returning "UP", using Keepalived. Until now it was working perfectly fine, but this new behavior is putting me into trouble, as I can't start a service which requires an interface to be available, which can only be if the service is already up and running ... egg-and-chicken .... Is there a way to disable that ? Regards
Le 29-Mar-2025 17:34:14 +0100, cas-user@apereo.org a crit: Hi, I am running CAS using a Docker image on a dedicated machine with plenty of resources. I have recently rebuilt the image using 7.1.5 sources from Cas Initializr. I am experiencing something strange since then : most of the times the CAS application is starting, performs some expected startup tasks and the logs say it has been initialised in xxxx milliseconds. Then it stalls, forever, and the READY banner never appears. A network socket on port 8080 is available but the app is not processing requests (but it's still running). So far I have not been able to spot anything useful in the logs. But on many other times, it's getting ready a couple of seconds after the initial message, and serves requests just as expected. Can someone explain me what's happening in the app so it decides it's time to show the READY banner or not ?
