First you have to get the code and build it:

Then it's time to play with the various applications and figure out which
one interests you most, and which one has something you wish to improve
on. Or you could check bugs.kde.org and see if there's something
interesting there -- there always is!
If you have an idea of what you want to work on, it's time to dive in!
And remember that at all times, you are free to ask us for more
information or for help, either here or on irc (#calligra in
irc.freenode.net).
