As I wrote in the review request (and which was totally ignored without any discussion) is that I have a problem with some of this and I would like to discuss it now. I think that at least the gradient tool and the pattern tool makes sense in all the applications and they should be moved from karbon/ to plugins/. Any user doing something as simple as a diagram with boxes and lines could be interested in setting a gradient in a rectangle, which is not possible without this tool.
