Yes, that would be possible. Note that while these checks are better than nothing it is not possible to completely guarantee valid ODF at compile time. There are cases where an attibute is allowed when another one is not present or where elements must occur in the right sequence. Checking values from an enumeration or types like positive integers is definitely possible.
