I've been coding straight PHP for about 6 years now at a small company
that is not an "early adopter". I've looked into the PHP frameworks a
bit and I keep going back to a fundamental question for me:

Is the cost of learning essentially a new language and converting (or
probably re-writing) legacy code worth the benefits of a framework?
Where is the break-even point? 1 month? 1 year? Never, it's just
good form and the right thing to do?

I'm looking to make a presentation to my boss on the subject and am
interested in the ROI bullet points. If anyone can point me to a page
(I've looked, but can't find) or chime-in with your thoughts, I would
really appreciate it!

All the best
