Try changing this:
$this->Auth->allow('display');
$this->Auth->allow('recoverpassword_submit');
$this->Auth->allow('*');
To this:
$this->Auth->allow('display', 'recoverpassword_submit');
By putting the * your overwriting the other 2. You also only need to
call allow() once but supply many arguments for each action.
