Also, looking at [CMAKE_MSVC_RUNTIME_LIBRARY](https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/variable/CMAKE_MSVC_RUNTIME_LIBRARY.html), it looks like CMake already has a built-in means of selecting the runtime library. Is this built-in functionality sufficient? Perhaps with some changes to our build to make use of it, if it doesn't work directly?
