Over the weekend, I extended Explorer so that Tools > Advanced Commands launches a terminal in the root directory of the current location. It seems to work OK on GNOME and KDE. I couldn't get it going to the right place on OS X (10.4) though and I'm yet to test it on Windows.
Can a few people try this on various Windows and OS X versions please and raise bugs (or send patches!) if it fails?
