I’m not sure what the initial question or issue was, but my SteppIR Small
Vertical is mounted on my roof with about a dozen radials running from the base
of the antenna to various points along the edge of the roof. They are
“elevated” near the antenna (meaning there is space between the wire and the
shingles) but tend to be resting on the surface of the shingles for much of
their length. As to the physics of “elevated,” I think they are still elevated
above the earth, touching the shingles or not. Based on my experience, I’d say
the recommendations outlined on the sheet from SteppIR are probably pretty good
(for what my opinion is worth).

Have you seen this?

It is actually pretty good for the most part. It does miss what they were using
for risers. I am not sure if metal or insulated are needed.

Can anyone put me onto further info or articles about a vertical's on-ground
radials being lifted above ground for the outer end 25'ish percent to adjust a
vertical's feed Z?

It makes sense, but I had not heard of this "partial elevation", so looking
for the secret sauce.
