...or, what I learned today
Howdy, all My alien green TIDRADIO H3 has been so much fun! Almost as much fun if I had bought the clear case version! ;-) One interesting option with the H3 (BUT NOT H8 OR H3 plus) is the open source firmware loads that are available. The two I have played with follow: https://github.com/yobabyte/tid_umod https://github.com/nicsure/TD-H3-Engineering Both offer significant differences with the stock display. The umon package offers a very easy to read, single channel view, while nicFW adds SO many tiny bits of information! You can view the umon display here: https://github.com/yobabyte/tid_umod/blob/main/images/umod.jpg Very easy on the eyes, even without glasses! nicFW goes the other direction (possibly for younger eyes). You can see the modified UI on the first page of the docs: https://github.com/nicsure/nicfw2docs Functionality remains the same. My H3 works best out on the back patio. :-) Happy to share more, if anyone is interested. 73 Dan KJ5IZK ________________________________________________ Brazos Valley Amateur Radio Club BVARC mailing list [email protected] http://mail.bvarc.org/mailman/listinfo/bvarc_bvarc.org Publicly available archives are available here: https://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/
