@joel I have used your test file `dl05.pre` and cloned the latest 
`rtems-tools`, built the repo on FreeBSD and then run:

```
$ PATH=/opt/work/rtems/7/bin:$PATH ./build/linkers/rtems-syms -vvv -e -w -S x.c

This issue was raised with `m68k` so does `i386` cause the same warning on the 
default 7 tools?
