Stand-alone Info provides the following command: 1. `M-x history-node` (bound to `l`)
Emacs Info provides the following commands: 1. `M-x Info-history-back` (bound to `l`) 2. `M-x Info-history-forward` (bound to `r`) Unlike Emacs Info, stand-alone Info does not provide a command to navigate forward through the node history. I find this feature very useful, and its absence is quite inconvenient. I would appreciate it if this functionality could be added to stand-alone Info. --- I still remember reading the following passage in `(info)Help-Int` when I first started using Texinfo: > You can use the ‘r’ command (‘Info-history-forward’ in Emacs) to revisit > nodes in the history list in the forward direction, so that ‘r’ will return > you to the node you came from by typing ‘l’. It took me a while to realize that the `r` command is only available in Emacs Info and that stand-alone Info has no corresponding command. --- There is a similar question on Stack Exchange: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/624966/moving-forward-in-history-in-gnu-info
