A repeated "* Menu:" line was treated by Info as a cross-reference to the "Top" node of the manual. I've changed this and this prevents the tree search from hanging when it passes through the mtools.info manual. This may fix the immediate problem. However, the tree search may still freeze if there is an explicit menu entry pointing higher up in the node hierarchy. I've made some attempt today at fixing this but wasn't successful. I will have another look at it. Separately, we need to look at what is going on with the mtools manual and how the Info file ended up looking like this. I will write more on this when I have time.
