We have uploaded the pretest for the next minor, bug-fix release of
Texinfo, the GNU documentation format.

https://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/texinfo/texinfo-7.0.2.90.tar.xz

As a bug-fix release, changes since version 7.0.2 are minimal so to reduce
the likelihood of inadvertent breakages.

Here are a list of the changes:

* texi2any
  . fix performance regression when Perl binary extension (XS) modules
    are not being used (e.g. with TEXINFO_XS=omit)

* info
  . further fix of recoding of UTF-8 files to ASCII to avoid text
    disappearing from nodes
  . avoid possible freeze at start of a file with `-v nodeline=pointers'

This pretest is made to allow further testing before an official
release and to hopefully discover any problems before use by a larger
audience. Please report any issues to <bug-texinfo@gnu.org>.

It is likely that this will be released as Texinfo 7.0.3 in a few days'
time if there are no further issues.
