Many thanks for the report; this is definitely a bug and I'm glad you've reported it so quickly. It should be fixed in commit 400d2ebbe47, version 2023-01-02.21. I have uploaded the new version to ftp.gnu.org as this bug was present in the previously-uploaded version.
