Well, I'm now using @iftex @macro fptt {T} @tt{\T\} @end macro @end iftex @ifnottex @macro fptt {T} \T\ @end macro @end ifnottex and @fptt{[]} in function prototypes, but a clean solution would be much better than this hack.
