Follow-up Comment #2, bug #66011 (group make): If all the files listed in the prerequisites do exist, the pattern rule that I wrote works fine. To quote the GNU Make Manual section 10.5.1:
> There may also be prerequisites that do not use ‘%’; such a prerequisite attaches to every file made by this pattern rule. These unvarying prerequisites are useful occasionally.
