Summary: Strange hung in make after build terminated Project: make Submitted by: ubely Submitted on: Ср 29 сен 2021 07:14:04 Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Bug Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Component Version: 4.2.1 Operating System: None Fixed Release: None Triage Status: None _______________________________________________________ Details: During CI (Jenkins) build of our project we caught a strange `make` hang that's hard to understand for us. Maybe, it was something sporadic, but anyway it looked strange. The project that was building and make hung with was u-boot (source is https://ftp.denx.de/pub/u-boot/u-boot-2020.10.tar.bz2 ) for de0-nano-soc target. At some moment there were several "Terminated" messages (we couldn't understand where they came from), then the remaining files were built, but `make` didn't finished and left hung. The build log is attached. I managed to connect to the hunging/running `make` process via gdb and walked several steps through the code. It looks like it some chain of check_dep/update_file_1/update_file routings in `remake.c` code. We just assume that there might be some bug in `make` that could lead to this `looping` instead of exit with error. And `make` developers could understand what had happened. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Ср 29 сен 2021 07:14:04 Name: log.do_dpkg_build.20272 Size: 20КиБ By: ubely <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=51982> ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Ср 29 сен 2021 07:14:04 Name: gdb_steps.txt Size: 55КиБ By: ubely <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=51983> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?61241> _______________________________________________ Сообщение отправлено по Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
