Follow-up Comment #1, bug #51462 (project make): A google for that hash finds:

It's marked as a duplicate of: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?47995 ... which is marked as fixed in 4.2.1, which is the version in which you had the problem. So that's odd, then.
