Hello,

we got a bug report [1] at Gentoo regarding parallel build of git with
make-4.2. It seems to be related to an upstream bug report [2] which
was fixed prior of the make-4.2 release. Once that commit [3] is
reverted, git can be successfully built again with make-4.2.

It seems like make-4.2 doesn't build any of git's executable files and
once "make install" is called it stumbles upon lots of missing files.

Kind regards
Lars
