Follow-up Comment #1, bug #33138 (project make):
Latest patch attached. This works well in my tests on Solaris and Linux. I
know of no reason it wouldn't work the same on any POSIX platform, and it's
ifdef-ed so as to not break the build on any non-POSIX platform. A start on
documentation is included.
