Summary: Modification of search pattern for default make rule files Project: make Submitted by: None Submitted on: Thursday 11/02/2006 at 04:52 UTC Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Enhancement Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Component Version: CVS Operating System: Any Fixed Release: None _______________________________________________________ Details: Hello sirs. After much thought, I am suggesting that GNU Make performs search for an additional filename with build rules, when it's run without arguments. I think, and I hope all the developers agree, that the first match should be for 'Makefail', followed by 'Makefile', followed by 'makefile'. Due to increasing number of bugs and various other failures in GNU make, I think everyone would agree to this addition. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?18173> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-make mailing list Bug-make@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-make
