Details:
I have LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 in my environment (SUSE Linux 10.0 i386),
and "make check" reports several regression failures in make 3.81.
This wasn't the case with make 3.80.
Command line to reproduce:
export LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 ; ./configure && make all check
Workaround for 3.81:
LANG= make check
