You need to work with the folks on the make-w32@gnu.org mailing list to resolve these issues and come up with a patch which is acceptable to those folks (and to me... which mainly means it doesn't impact the POSIX versions much or at all). Support by GNU make for the non-POSIX operating systems is unfortunately somewhat ad hoc. The official maintainers don't have any Windows systems and don't even compile GNU make there, much less do any development. We rely solely on a group of trusted Windows programmers to provide patches and do the testing. As long as it doesn't appear to impact the other ports, I generally just apply patches which have been agreed to by a quorum on the make-w32@gnu.org list. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul D.
