Hi.

I'm running an up-to-date Debian unstable system, so I've got the -rc1
make installed. When I build a kernel for the machine, make seems to
believe that everything is always out of date, so the build would be
performed as if I'd done a 'make mrproper' and removed all the object
files. Even if I start a build, then kill it at some point during the
build, the next time I resume a build everything appears out-of-date.

I went and grabbed the beta4 release from alpha, built and installed it,
and that 'make' does not display the unexpected behavior of -rc1. As
the -rc1 release seems to have a different (buggy?) way of dealing with
kernel builds, I'm mailing the list to see if others are seeing this
behavior. I scanned the list today and didn't see this problem
mentioned, but that the official 3.81 release is planned to happen
shortly, so if this is indeed a bug it needs to be squished promptly.

Thanks.
