I did a similar patch several years ago... Also, I posted a patch a number of years ago which echos the makefiles which are read in (like the gcc -H option) -- I find this very useful when debugging makefiles (as opposed to using strace). It shold be easy to fit this into --debug=h) Good to see a release...
