Attached is a tarball with a project (missing a lot of the
source, I've only included the bare minimum needed to
recreate the assertion) that used to work with 3.79
but now produces the following assertion with make 3.79.1:
[ryants@cr1016134-a knob]$ make

`current_variable_set_list->next != 0' failed.

As I said, these makefiles worked perfectly fine with
3.79
