Hi All,

There are some Hurd disc configurations that do not work. For example, I have a hardware platform that runs well using hurd-amd64, rumpdisk and AHCI SATA mode. The same machine does not detect the disc properly when using 'Native IDE' SATA mode.

I have seen the recent comments regarding '-M q35' being required to run 64 bit Hurd with qemu. I can however use 'Virtual Machine Manager' to configure and run hurd-amd64 using the i440fx chipset suggesting that I'm not understanding the precise issue.

Anyway, I'm going to see if I can resolve, and possibly fix, all this since I think that rumpdisk ought to work with all of the above.

Can someone please state the precise qemu invocation that fails when not using q35 so that I can investigate? Please also specify the specific gnumach/Hurd versions in use.

Regards,

Mike.
