Hi,
I wrote a small proposal to NLnet[1] for adding sound-support for the Hurd (with ~5 hours per week; I don’t have more free time), and it was granted. When we talked last week to start with a concrete project plan, the responsible person asked me about the other blockers for adoption of the Hurd. I named USB support, from our what we need list[2], and they said that it would be likely that such projects would succeed, too, and encouraged that others would write Hurd proposals, too. So hereby I’m sharing that: Please have a look at the PET page! https://nlnet.nl/thema/NGIZeroPET.html Funding comes from the EU Horizon 2020 program, and you can write a proposal in an evening. So if you want to get paid for working on the Hurd, give it a go! For me the project was one of two proposals, so I’ll only be able to start after several months (after I finish a Freenet one).
