Ah, Thank you. That makes sense. The contents of my /lib/libc.so, however, are OUTPUT_FORMAT(elf32-i386) GROUP ( /lib/libc.so.0.3 /lib/libcrt_nonshared.a AS_NEEDED ( /lib/ld.so.1 ) ) Where all the referred to files are binaries (and the only reference to 'pthread' in any of them appears to be a text string in libc.so.0.3. I'm not sure exactly what to do, in this situation. Should some of those libraries be rebuilt? -- Gilles
