Yes, there is a way: ikiwiki also does this for creating the
<http://www.bddebian.com/~wiki/recent_changes/> page: see the *git* vs. *web*
markers and compare to the ``git log'' output.  I can give suggestions where to
find thei (Perl) code inside ikiwiki if someone indeed wants to have a look at
that.
