Hello! First of all: thanks for your interest in helping with getting a new wiki setup done and (hopefully? :-) also for your interst in contributing to the content. Second of all: sorry for my current quasi-absence. I'm involved in an university project where we have to do a presentation next Tuesday and not everything is working as expected so far... But we're getting better! (For the curious: it's about implementing (via vhdl / fpga) a risc processor pipeline, extending it in some ways (cache, floating point co-processor) and writing some software to use it. Very interesting!) The plan was to host the new wiki on a Hurd machine and Barry already provided me with access to his Hurd-based web server. If that doesn't work out (stability-wise, for example), I'll be sure to get back to you. > Is this indeed something currently being worked on by anyone? I already spent quite some time on thinking about how I want this to be done, also with respect to extending this -- once it proves to work nicely -- (a) to evolve into a general GNU-wide wiki and (b) (perhaps, some day) to merge the ``traditional'' web pages and the wiki content. As described above, I'm essentially out of time at the moment. But: the university semester will over in roughly one week. And then getting this wiki stuff done will be on the top position on my to-do-list! > >The Hurd wiki at hurd.gnufangs.org no longer is updated because we > >were supposed to get a new wiki hosted elsewhere You are of course still free to update the old wiki. (Which is also what I've been doing a few times in the past months.) I have access to a some few months old snapshot of the raw rcs files and Joachim will provide me with the latest ones as soon as the switchover is going to be done. (The plan is to import and convert the old files to preserve their history, I should add.) Regards, Thomas
