Summary: `sync' vs. `syncfs' Project: The GNU Hurd Submitted by: tschwinge Submitted on: Saturday 03/10/07 at 19:17 Category: The GNU Hurd Should Start On: Saturday 03/10/07 at 00:00 Should be Finished on: Saturday 03/10/07 at 00:00 Priority: 1 - Later Status: None Privacy: Public Percent Complete: 0% Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Planned Release: None Effort: 0.00 Wiki-like text discussion box: _______________________________________________________ Details: On a Hurd system we currently have both `sync' (from GNU coreutils) and `syncfs' (from GNU Hurd), whereas the former provides only a subset of the fuctionality of the latter. In my opinion, they should be merged, having `syncfs' be absorbed into coreutils's `sync'. This, of course, needs to be discussed with <bug-coreutils@gnu.org>. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/task/?6614> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-hurd mailing list Bug-hurd@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-hurd
