Hi, at Systems expo, there was a booth by the CS department of the university of Erlangen showcasing their FAUMachine virtual machine. They advertised it as VMWare-like, but it seems to be closer to qemu (and indeed, after I asked them for a comparison to qemu, the guy conceded they were using their code, though I don't know how much of it). FAUMachine has a nice GTK GUI and is licensed under the GPL.
I made them download Ben's LiveCD and try it out, but Mach stopped at the SCSI detection and hang there. I believe the LiveCD is supposed to work with qemu, so it would be cool to have the Hurd working on this as well. Maybe it is just a matter of configuration (there didn't seem to be much options for configuring the virtual machine's hardware though, at least not presented by the GUI) More information is available at http://www.faumachine.org cheers, Michael _______________________________________________ Bug-hurd mailing list Bug-hurd@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-hurd
