Summary: pflocal issues Project: The GNU Hurd Submitted by: tschwinge Submitted on: Monday 07/17/06 at 10:55 Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Reproducibility: None Size (loc): None Planned Release: None Effort: 0.00 _______________________________________________________ Details: 02:31 <antrik> interesting: running "cat /dev/zero|cat >/dev/null" for a while completely freezes the system 19:54 <antrik> hm... cat /dev/zero|cat >/dev/null crashes the machine also if done in a chroot... How long does this take? 20:20 <antrik> tschwinge: not sure exactly. must be something between 15 minutes and an hour I'd say 11:49 <antrik> if instead of doing "cat /dev/zero|cat >/dev/null" (pflocal) I use tcplisten/tcpconnect (pfinet) or a fifo, there is no crash 13:41 <antrik> a simple "cat /dev/zero >/dev/null" doesn't crash either 13:44 <antrik> so, any volunteers to find out why pflocal crashes Mach? :-) 13:44 <antrik> (or at least it crashes the whole system even if run in a subhurd...) Perhaps related to the pflocal patch by Neal that is in the Debian package? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=17118> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-hurd mailing list Bug-hurd@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-hurd
