That's what Ogi did, but it still got refused by dpkg upstream.

New patch without constructor and C99 code (libihash is not referred at all) is submitted today: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=133640


dpkg 1.10.22 with this patch can be downloaded from http://debian.fmi.uni-sofia.bg/~ogi/hurd/repo/

Hopefully, next version of dpkg won't have this problem.
