GNU Mach 1.x is in the gnumach-1-branch branch.  If you look at the CVS web
pages in Savannah, at the end of the page you can select the branch in the
"Show files with tag" field (this is where you can see conveniently which
branches exist).  To check it out, simply use the normal CVS command but add
"-r gnumach-1-branch" at the command line.  You only need to do this once at
checkout time, after that it is sticky.  You should also be able to convert
an existing check out to the branch etc, for details, "info cvs" :)
