They were originally entirely compatible. Now mach_i386.defs is different on the two versions. However, nothing uses the old interfaces that were replaced by Marcus's new ones. So I think it will be fine to use just the oskit-mach version. With that one installed when you build libc, the ioperm code will be enabled and try to use the new RPCs.
