Hi,

When defining DONT_CACHE_MEMORY_OBJECTS in ext2fs.h, a thread can get stuck
in memcpy(), pager/pager-memcpy (called by diskfs/rdwr-internal, called by
io_read). I can provide a gdb trace if someone is interested.

About the purpose of this symbol, I could only find the ChangeLog:

Tue May  9 18:08:41 1995  Miles Bader  <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

        * ext2fs.h (DONT_CACHE_MEMORY_OBJECTS): Don't define this any
        more, as the bugs we were using it to catch are supposedly gone :-|

Does anybody have any recollections about these bugs?

What effect would have (no) caching of memory objects on the zero hole bug
situation?

Thanks,
Marcus
