If you don't like the corba->c idl mapping, bad luck, the servers are implemented in C. However shifting to CORBA is nice as it opens the possibility of C++ hurd servers. However there may be other reasons that C++ can't be used (I am not familiar w/implementation details of hurd servers). If a c++ mapping existed for ORBit things would definately be interesting...
