Hello,

My name is Jesus Torres and I'm a Electronic Engineer student.

I want apologize, first, for my poor English, second, because I'm not sure
if I must send this suggestion to this e-mail address or there is other form
to send this.

I like the GNU project but I had always thought that it need a kernel more
powerful than Linux.

In my free time I have studied some OS, specially micro-kernels OS because I
think that they are very powerful. I have seen Hurd and I'm very amazed by
it. Congratulations, I think that Hurd will revolutionize the Unix OS
architecture.

My suggestion is that, now that Hurd is in development and the classic Unix
OS architecture is changing, is the time to do a total change. I'm speaking
of include native support to UNICODE in the system services and principal
file system like others SO.

In some SO the system service work natively with Unicode and only with
Unicode. The system provides two version of some system library functions.
One is the Unicode version that can call directly to the system services and
another one is the ANSI version that must convert to Unicode previously to
call to system services.

In the beginning the old ANSI application work very fine. But in the future
it will be ported to the Unicode version because the ANSI version work bit
slower.

I think that the Unicode support eradicate the problems with the characters
set and do the exchange of information between users more easy.

I think that this change must be a gradual improvement but name the his
files in his native language must be a pleasure for many users.

I remember that the language is the principal limitation for many users or
possible future users.

Thank you for your time...
